How We Use Cookies

Cookie notices tend to be long because most websites load a crowd of tools from other companies. Ours is short for the opposite reason. BelmakDesign does not use analytics, advertising or social media trackers, so there is almost nothing to declare.

What we store

Strictly speaking, we do not set cookies at all. The one piece of information we keep uses your browser's local storage, a small storage area that works in a similar way:

ItemPurposeHow long it stays
Banner choiceRemembers whether you pressed accept or decline, so the notice does not return on every pageUntil you clear your browser's site data

This entry never leaves your device. It is not sent to us or anyone else, contains no identifier and cannot be used to recognise you on other websites.

What we do not use

  • No visitor statistics or analytics services.
  • No advertising or remarketing cookies.
  • No embedded social media buttons that report your visit.
  • No third-party fonts or scripts that set their own cookies.

Pressing accept or decline makes no difference to what the site collects, because there is nothing optional to switch on. The banner exists to be transparent about that.

Removing your choice

If you would like the banner to appear again, or simply want a clean slate, delete the stored data for this site:

  1. Open your browser's settings and find the section on privacy, cookies or site data.
  2. Search for belmakdesign.com in the list of stored sites.
  3. Remove the data for this site only, or clear all browsing data if you prefer.

Private or incognito windows discard local storage automatically when you close them.

If that ever changes

Should we one day decide to add a tool that stores something more, it would be listed in the table above before going live, and anything optional would stay switched off until you agree. We would also refresh the banner so that your earlier choice does not count as consent for something new.

Other websites

Articles occasionally link to other sites. Those sites may use cookies of their own, governed by their policies rather than ours.

More detail

The wider picture, including server logs kept by our hosting provider and how we handle email, is explained in our Privacy & Data notice. Questions are welcome through the contact page.
